How our supporters have helped us protect more of Australia over the past year.
This 2011-2012 Annual Report includes the directors' report, a concise financial report, and stunning photos and stories of our conservation successes.
During 2011-2012 Bush Heritage:
- Collaborated with the Wunambal Gaambera people to begin implementing the 10 year Wunambal Gaambera Healthy Country Plan.
- Controlled wildfires on Cravens Peak and Ethabuka Reserves in late 2011 and commenced ecological assessment of the impact of the fires
- Developed a three-year revegetation plan for Monjebup North Reserve in the Gondwana Link project area, benefitting threatened species like Carnaby’s black cockatoo.
- Secured covenants on Eurardy and Beringa Reserves to protect species like the recently discovered sun orchid.
- Completed the final stages of a three-year rabbit control program on Boolcoomatta Reserve, focussing on protecting vegetation communities such as purple-wood wattle.
- Established the Midlands Conservation Fund in partnership with the Tasmanian Land Conservancy.
- Completed a three-year review of outcomes for the red-finned blue-eye in the Edgbaston springs, demonstrating our success in managing and protecting of the springs and fish populations.
- Undertook many other conservation activities which are documented in the report.
