Around the Simpson Desert after a once-in-a-decade rainfall event
In March 2010, massive rains fell across much of central Australia.
Over the following months, the dry red sandhills of Bush Heritage's Cravens Peak and Ethabuka Reserves were transformed – here are photos of the Simpson Desert as you've never seen it before, with birds, mammals and reptiles taking advantage of the wetter than average year.
Thanks to Bush Heritage's supporters, these creatures are able to make the most of the unusual abundance on offer.
