Private conservation groups fund work on endangered species

ABC 7:30 Qld: Twenty years ago, the seed of an idea was planted in Tasmania. From that small start big things grew. This week Bush Heritage Australia celebrated two decades of working with ordinary Australians to protect some of this country's finest natural assets. A study commissioned by Bush Heritage, found the effort so far has provided protection for around five and a half thousand native fauna and plant species at least 80 of those are under threat. Kathy McLeish went along to see the organisation's most recent effort to save a small Australian from the brink.
