Charles Darwin Reserve Community History

The Charles Darwin Reserve Community History website is now online.

In 2003, Bush Heritage Australia (then known as Australian Bush Heritage Fund) purchased Whitewells Station in Western Australia to protect its outstanding remnant woodlands and the native animals and plants that depend on them.

The property was renamed Charles Darwin Reserve and is now managed to protect its biodiversity for the long term.

The website was mostly written and compiled by Charlie Nicholson with contributions from many other people, traces the human history of the area of this reserve. This is a work in progress and will continue to expand as more information and personal stories emerge.
