To Save a Sunburnt Country - Good Weekend magazine

13 January 2007

This article explores the conservation and science partnerships that have enabled the acquisition and management of Bush Heritage's spectacular reserves on the edge of the Simpson Desert - Ethabuka and Cravens Peak.

Professor Chris Dickman, leading a research team from the University of Sydney, has been overseeing one of the world's longest-running ecological studies on these properties. This area is one of the most significant desert ecologies on earth, with an incredible diversity of reptiles and small mammals.  Over 17 years, these researchers have built up a vast body of knowledge about these species and the impact of different land use and management practices.

This feature article by Greg Bearup, with photography by Peter Morris, was published in Fairfax's Good Weekend magazine (accompanying the Saturday Age and Sydney Morning Herald).
