In memoriam
Our thanks to those who have chosen to commemorate the lives of
loved ones by donating to Bush Heritage.
It is with sadness that we note the recent passing of two long
term supporters of Bush Heritage, Pifa Graham of Como, WA, who had
been a regular monthly donor since January 1993 - when Bush Heritage
had only three reserves - and Sonia Simms of Cooma NSW. We extend
our condolences to their families and friends.
Sonia's daughter Vivienne Skinner writes,
"Sonia Simms died in her sleep on the 31 July, aged 66, after
a brief battle with cancer. We miss her greatly, but are delighted
that in true Sonia fashion, all money destined for flower displays
was instead directed to the Australian Bush Heritage Fund.
She lived amidst the bush in Cooma, near the Snowy Mountains,
and was a great lover of nature.
Her annual Christmas gift to her three grown up children was
a contribution to yet another piece of pristine land, saved from
the hands of developers by the Bush Heritage Fund.
We loved Sonia dearly and comfort ourselves with the knowledge
that her great sense of community spirit lives on in her husband
Rob, and we three children - Steven, Vivienne and Roslyn."
