Doug
Humann - Chief Executive Officer
Thank you!
We've had a wonderful response from you to our Appeal for the purchase
and management of Carnarvon Station.
As we proceed
towards settlement and a public announcement of this new Reserve,
I thank those who have generously donated.
If you've not
yet contributed please will you consider doing so now?
Apart from the
finalisation of Carnarvon Station an exciting year is ahead for
Bush Heritage. We hope to make at least one further major land acquisition
and range of land management activities are under way of planned.
From this newsletter you;ll also see that we are planning a program
of field visits for interested supporters.
As
well as welcoming new staff and board members, we are also sadly
saying goodbye to Marg Graham. Marg was one of three staff employed
by Bush Heritage when I arrived in 1997 and she has made an enormous
contribution to the organisation. With characteristic good humour
and attention to detail, Marg has actively developed and maintained
relationships with supporters and volunteers, provided wonderful
support to the staff and board, and brought wisdom and consideration
to our development. We wish her and her husband, Bob, a wonderful
future on the Tasmanian island they've made their new home.
Our most recent
board meeting saw the retirement of long-standing directors Margaret
Robertson and Ray McKendrick. Both gave enormously of their time,
energies and expertise since their commencement as directors in
1994 and 1993 respectively. Margaret remains a stalwart of the Kojonup
Reserve and continues to enthusiastically promote Bush Heritage
in the west. Ray on Hobart has been a wonderful support to the office
apart from his professional skills as a lawyer. The Board and staff
join in thanking them for their outstanding contributions to Bush
Heritage's growth and success.
