In Memory

Members of the Mulgoa Valley Landcare Group gave a donation to Bush Heritage in memory of Leilani Musgrave. Helen Moss remembered John Linden Hogg - 'a warm, gentle, intelligent, funny, wise person, much loved by his many friends'.

Sallyanne Proctor gave in memory of Janet Wright and Alison Witcombe in memory of Margot Green, who was 'passionately attached to the bush'. The passing of Anthony Read has been commemorated by many of his friends. Shay Drummond and many other friends have remembered Raymond Dudley.

Our apologies to the family of Miss Morgan Maffey-Bland for the error in the last newsletter.

New Staff

Mick Blackman has taken up the reins at Carnarvon Station Reserve as the new reserve manager. Mick and his wife Clare were park rangers at Lakefield and Iron Range National Parks in far north Queensland for over 13 years. They worked mostly with fire, weeds, feral animals and visitor management and during this time Mick developed a particular interest in fire ecology. Mick and Clare will bring a vast range of skills to Carnarvon. Their three children share their enthusiasm for the move to this remote reserve.

Goodbye

Dr Pierre Horwitz, Board member since1999, has completed his three-year term and is not seeking renomination due to work commitments.

As an ecologist and with his commitment to both good governance and developing partnerships, Pierre has provided invaluable advise to the Board and staff. He encouraged the establishment of comprehensive reserve acquisition and management processes. The establishment of reserves in Western Australia has benefited from his support in that State. We thank him for his contribution over these years and wish him well.

Natalie Neilson, fundraising coordinator, has left Bush Heritage. We wish her well and thank her for her efficient, unflappable and competent work with us over the last year. Julie Marshall will take over as fundraising coordinator.
