Climate Change
As global warming influences temperatures and patterns of rainfall, vegetation communities and other habitats will change in response.
From west to east across the length of Yourka Reserve the rising elevation (from 500 m to over 900 m) and increasing gradient in rainfall provides a range of protected habitats for animals and plants to move into, should conditions around them deteriorate.
Saving properties with altitudinal variation such as Yourka will be a vital part of safeguarding our biodiversity against the impacts of climate change.
