Although virtually flat, with relief usually measured in a few metres, Eurardy is very diverse. It is located in what is known as the Nanga landsystem which is mostly comprised of the Geraldton sandplain and underlain by ancient limestone. Extending on both sides of the highway is a band of more fertile, red loamy sand which supports the york gum and mallee communities.
This extremely old landscape is highly weathered and has eroded to a gently undulating plain with few topographical features. Vast sand plains with ephemeral drainage lines and breakaways, rocky soapstone and granite outcrops and extensive natural salt lake systems typify this region. There is the occasional high dune from which you can gain a spectacular view across the sweeping landscape and appreciate its subtle features such as changes in vegetation and the catchment of the Bungabandi Creek which eventually flows in to the Murchison River Gorge on Kalbarri National Park
