Plants
Two hundred and twenty two species of native flowering plants have been identified from Charles Darwin Reserve. A further 80 specimens, many of which are believed to be new, are awaiting identification. Of particular interest to visitors, are the Salmon and York gum woodlands, which have been extensively cleared in the local region. Old growth Salmon & York gum woodlands provide important habitat for birds dependent on nesting hollows.
