Media Kit for Launch of Scottsdale Reserve

Diamond firetail, a vulnerable species found on Scottsdale Reserve.Scottsdale Reserve, 45 minutes south of Canberra on the Monaro Highway NSW, was launched in March 2007.  This celebration was featured in our Winter 2007 edition of Bush Heritage News: Launch of Scottsdale Reserve - A Happy Event.

The launch also celebrated the acquisition of Scottsdale Reserve as the first major action of the Kosciuszko to Coast (K2C) landscape reconnection project, which aims to connect habitats from the Australian Alps to the eastern coastline.  This project is featured in our  Summer 2006 newsletter: Scottsdale – the land and its river.

Scottsdale Reserve is also an important link in a state and federal government plan to create the 2800 kilometre Great Eastern Ranges wildlife corridor.  This corridor will run along the east coast of Australia, from Queensland Atherton Tableland to the Victorian Alps.  The aim is to enable the migration of plant and animal species in response to climate change.
