Caring for Country on Indigenous Lands
When requested, Bush Heritage supports Indigenous people to undertake Caring for Country and conservation management on Indigenous managed lands by:
- Working together on environmental management planning (country based planning) that combines Indigenous and non Indigenous knowledge systems.
- Providing scientific based natural resource management experience and expertise.
- Supporting Indigenous landholders to build upon their capacity to manage land and develop skills in natural resource management and cultural heritage management.
- Facilitating partnerships between Indigenous groups, government agencies, non government organisations and private businesses to achieve Indigenous peoples natural resource management interests.
If you are an Indigenous organisation or community who would like to be involved in this program, please contact Sarah Eccles, our Indigenous Programs Manager, on (03) 8610 9122
