Anyone need a curlew?

I came across this little guy at the Lucindale Farm Field Days in south-east south Australia over the weekend.

Scott Butler of Remabi Park brought him along to lure the public into the Department of Environment Water and Natural Resources tent. Apparently they're quite easy to breed. He has a small 'flock' and can breed 6 or more chicks per year from each pair. The way things are going with the wild population in South-east SA he may soon have more Curlews than are left there in the wild.

This one was happily pecking weavils from kids hands. There is a recording of it's call here.
