Chooks n traps

Dugite

One of the worst jobs after a successful fauna trapping season in the Fitz-Stirling is cleaning the traps, not my favourite job! This morning my chooks volunteered to help and they cleaned out dead beetles, squashed peanut butter and oats and a variety of other unmentionable bits of debris. Not sure what their eggs will taste like but their help was much appreciated. The traps caught plenty of house mice in the revegetated areas on Monjebup North and even a 1.5metre long venomous snake (dugite) that was probably attracted to the trap by the musty house mouse odour.
