Feral Fish Scan and tasty carp!

An interesting day on Monday. Bush Heritage and the Upper Murrumbidgee Demonstration Reach have been working with a number of partners, including Peter West of the Cooperative Research Centre, in the development of the Feral Fish Portal.

It's an excellent piece of citizen science that will help us track and become more informed about a range of feral fish, including carp, in the Upper Murrumbidgee area.

Making a splash was A Baker - an excellent restaurant in Canberra town - where the menu has included experiments with carp caught at Scottsdale Reserve over the last few months. They've succeeded in serving up a range of delicious Scottsdale carp canapes! 

Minister Corbell launched the feral Fish Scan and had more than a few mouthfuls of the carp canapes as well. Here's some of the coverage the event received:
