This year we welcome to the Committee Joanne Flint from Queensland who has volunteered in NSW, WA, QLD, ACT and who is a Certified Environmental Practitioner with an engineering background. She has more than 30 years' experience, including leadership roles in environmental management and technical services. Jo currently supports organisations on strategy development and risk management.
We also welcome Jessie Moyses from Melbourne who has been a long-term volunteer with our Conservation and Science Team and our Web Team. Jessie is a consultant ecologist employed at GHD in Melbourne. In 2018 she completed a Masters involving a research project on the factors affecting the persistence of Burrowing Bettongs outside Arid Recovery Reserve in South Australia.
Jo and Jess have joined our other members, Eva Finzel from Victoria, Catherine Nicholson from Tasmania, Richard Alcorn from Victoria and Richard McLellan from Western Australia. We said farewell to John Adams from WA and Grant Duthie from VIC who had provided guidance to us since 2016 and who both remain with Bush Heritage in other volunteer roles. Thanks to you both!
Last week the Committee had the opportunity to meet in Melbourne to plan our activities for 2020 and 2021, along with our Volunteer Coordinators from around the country. Our focus during this period will be developing new and diverse volunteer opportunities.
