Volunteer working bee on Saturday 25 November 17
Once again the Liffey Valley has been abuzz with volunteers. We now have a regular team of volunteers, and their skills, goodwill and commitment is nothing short of amazing.
Paul Thomas and Bob Brown had the billy on for us when we arrived, and once fuelled up with tea and an inspirational chat, we set to work.
Our team of seven (all volunteers from our October working bee) completed an impressive list of tasks: stone work to repair flood damage to the access track on either side of the bridge, repairs to furniture inside Oura Oura, removing fire hazards and vegetation clearing around the house, cleaning and oiling of timber on heritage timber outbuildings, and weeding of foxgloves and thistles.
The dedication of our volunteers speaks volumes for what a special place Oura Oura is. In the words of Bob Brown in saying thank you to the volunteers: "As each give to the delightful place, so may each feel free to enjoy it too."
