Partnership planning in central Victoria

on 06 Nov 2014

Trust for Nature and Bush Heritage Australia, with sister agencies, have been working together to develop two landscape plans for central Victoria.

Applying Conservation Action Planning (a process internationally developed by the Conservation Measures Partnership and endorsed as part of the Open Standards for the practice of conservation), Bush Heritage with the Trust for Nature are developing partnership plans for the Kara Kara Wedderburn and Western Riverina landscapes.

We'll be working together to better protect:

  • grassy woodlands
  • grasslands
  • threatened orchids
  • ground dwelling and hollow dependent fauna
  • declining woodland birds
  • wetlands and more.

With local Aboriginal groups, catchment management authorities, Parks Victoria, State Government departments and local conservation groups, we will over time, with the necessary financial and physical support, improve the health of our targets across these landscapes.

Stay tuned for updates on our progress along the way.
