At the 2014 Blues for the Bush Concert and Open Day St John Ambulance presented Bush Heritage Australia's Charles Darwin Reserve with a HeartStart first-aid defibrillator.

The HeartStart first-aid defibrillator will now be permanently based on Charles Darwin Reserve and add to our ability to provide a safe and well-equipped workplace for staff, volunteers and visitors. The HeartStart is used to treat the most common causes of sudden cardiac arrest. It's fully autotmated, small, lightweight and battery powered - designed for simple and reliable operation.

The defibrillator was presented to our CEO - Gerard O'Neill - and Healthy Landscape Manager Luke Bayley. St John Ambulance in Western Australia are strong supporters of Bush Heritage Australia's work and provided incredible service at the recent Blues for the Bush concert.

In addition to a strong presence by the St John Ambulance at the concert and open day we also had representatives from the Royal Flying Doctor Service and several GPs providing free health checks and advice to event goers.

A HUGE thanks to St John and CBH for their very important donation to Bush Heritage Australia.
