Over December 5th & 6th Bush Heritage exhibited at the 2013 Volunteering ACT Expo in Canberra.

Over 50 exhibitors packed Albert Hall to meet and chat with 900 visitors keen to learn more about volunteering opportunities in the area.

Myself, Peter Saunders, and volunteers Wybe Reyenga and Justin Kell, attended the event to promote Scottsdale's volunteer opportunities and our national volunteer program.  Our stand was made all the more successful by the enthusiasm, humour, and real volunteering stories of Justin and Wybe – their testimonials were of great interest to visitors.

To mark International Volunteer Day an event was held, as part of the Expo, to recognise the generous volunteer contribution Canberran’s make to their local area, at which two significant publications were launched:

- 100 Volunteering Stories; and
- Selfless Service – The State of Volunteering in the ACT 2013 Report

There was a high level of curiosity from the public about what Bush Heritage does, and the ways that volunteers can get involved. We look forward to welcoming some new faces into our volunteer program in 2014!
