Bush Heritage’s reserves in south-west Western Australia are home to a rainbow of wispy-petaled Featherflower species.
The Latin name for this genus, Verticordia, literally translates to ‘turner of hearts’ and that’s certainly what these brightly coloured beauties do!
We’re fortunate enough to have a particular Verticordia only found on, and named after, our Eurardy Reserve: Verticordia x eurardyensis. This bushgift supports Bush Heritage’s work protecting Featherflowers on our Eurardy, Kojonup and Fitz-Stirling reserves in Western Australia.
We’re protecting these Featherflower species by managing introduced herbivores, undertaking weed control and through integrated fire management.
