The cottage at Oura Oura and its adjacent walnut tree has played an important role in the history of the Australian conservation movement.
It is here on this land, that formative meetings birthed an endeavour to privately protect Australia’s most vulnerable ecosystems and species, in perpetuity.
This 14-hectare property, now our Oura Oura Reserve was gifted by Bob Brown in 2011 to Bush Heritage Australia, expanding our protection within the Liffey Valley, on country of Big River, North, and North Midlands people.
This bushgift helps support Bush Heritage’s work on our reserves across Australia.
