The Wedge-tailed Eagle is Australia’s largest bird of prey. With a wingspan of more than two metres, it's one of the biggest eagles in the world.
Interestingly, these powerful birds are monogamous – once they find a partner, they mate for life.
The main threats to Wedge-tailed Eagles are land-clearing and the loss of nesting sites.
This bushgift supports Bush Heritage’s work providing habitat and nesting sites for the endangered Tasmanian subspecies of the Wedge-tailed Eagle on our Liffey Valley Reserves. In doing so, we're ensuring these impressive eagles have ample nesting sites… and plenty of space to spread their wings!
