At Bush Heritage, we do everything we can to reduce, reuse and recycle both on reserve and in our offices. Why? Because we're committed to caring for the environment and the unique animals that call Australia home.

You can play your role too! Why not double your impact by turning your eligible containers into a donation towards our conservation work around the country!

If you’re in NSW, NT, QLD, TAS, VIC or WA, you can donate your container refund to Bush Heritage.

Help us reach our 2025 target of $10,000 (that's 100,000 containers!) by donating your container refund to Bush Heritage!

How does it work?

Container Deposit Schemes (CDS) are recycling programs that allow you to return eligible drink containers for a 10c refund. They help reduce litter and support recycling efforts across Australia.

By participating in CDS and donating your 10c refunds to Bush Heritage, you're directly contributing to our conservation efforts! Thanks to you the habitat of precious Australian animals such as the Spinifex Hopping Mouse will be protected and our planet will be cleaner, happier and freer of litter.

Here’s how you can get involved:

  1. Collect: Gather eligible drink containers such as cans, bottles, and cartons.
  2. Return: Take them to your nearest CDS collection point.
  3. Donate: When prompted, nominate Bush Heritage Australia as your chosen charity.

Why your donations matter

Every container you return and donate helps Bush Heritage protect and restore Australia's unique landscapes and wildlife. Your contributions, no matter how small, add up to create big changes.

It's a great opportunity to get kids, or grandkids involved. Turn recycling into a fun and educational activity that teaches them about conservation and the importance of protecting the ecosystems that support us.

Together, you can make a significant impact and inspire the next generation of conservationists.

Across the country, our amazing supporters have returned hundreds of thousands of containers, making sure these items are correctly recycled and turning a humble 10c into something much, much bigger!
