Cheques are being phased out across Australia

In line with the national transition – which is led by banks, financial institutions and endorsed by the Australian Government – we are preparing to phase out cheques and give you ways to continue supporting our conservation impact without them.

Key dates

We are still accepting cheques and will continue to do so until they are phased out in Australia in 2029. The key dates are:

30 June 2028: Banks and financial institutions in Australia will stop issuing all cheques. Any cheques written after this date won’t be accepted, and no payment will be made, including cheques for Bush Heritage. Please note that some banks and institutions have already implemented this stop and no longer issue cheques to their customers.
30 September 2029: Banks and financial institutions in Australia will stop accepting all cheques. Cheques will no longer be accepted for payment, including cheques for Bush Heritage.

We will provide timely updates, so you have plenty of support and notice about this change.

Alternative ways to donate

If you donate via cheque, we’re here to help and make it easy for you to continue supporting our conservation impact. Alternative ways for you to donate include:

BPAY: via online banking using Biller Code (55160) and your unique customer reference number (CRN). Existing supporters can find this on documentation from us or contact us for these details. Learn how to pay via BPAY.
Over the phone: give us a call on 1300 628 873 and we can process your donation over the phone using a debit or credit card.
Online: donate via our website using debit or credit card.
