Bush Heritage Australia has been informed by former telemarketing partner Pareto Phone that it has experienced a data security breach and that some donor information has been impacted. The breach relates to telemarketing campaigns conducted by Pareto Phone on behalf of Bush Heritage Australia in 2012-14.
On becoming aware of the cyber-attack, we immediately requested details of the data that has been potentially breached and can confirm that the information collected was limited to Surname, City, Postcode, State, Email and Date of Birth. A total of 2605 Bush Heritage supporters have potentially been impacted by the breach, and we have contacted all those.
Unlike some of the other charities impacted, Pareto Phone did not collect credit card, banking or other personal information from our supporters.
Our generous community of donors are our priority. We encourage anyone who is concerned that they may have been impacted to be alert to any fraudulent or suspicious activity.
