At Bush Heritage Australia, our guiding vision remains unwavering: healthy Country, protected forever. Yet, research tells us many Australians don’t know who we are or the impact of our work. To continue to achieve our ambitious 2030 strategy we need to share our story much more widely.

Research by the Biodiversity Council of Australia tells us 96% of Australians believe that more action is needed to look after the natural environment. So, it is clear there are many more Australians we could be reaching to invite to walk alongside us.

That’s why we are proud to launch our new brand ad, The poetry of the landscape.

Spoken through the eyes of a child, and inspired by the lyrical style of iconic Australian poet Dorothea MacKellar, the ad invites audiences to see the world with wonder, and to feel the deep importance of protecting Australia’s precious bush forever. Set to Rainbow Serpent by Waak Waak Djungi (BB, deceased) — generously approved for use by the Bunungurr family — the campaign draws on the beautiful music alongside our stunning reserves inviting new audiences to join us in protecting Country.

This new work was developed in partnership with creative agency HERO, who brought their consumer-market expertise to shape a brand framework and creative concept. Inspired by our mission, they generously supported us at a low bono rate. To ensure the message resonated, we tested the concept with new audiences, where it performed strongly. Already, we’ve seen donations begin to flow from related outdoor campaigns running in VIC, NSW, QLD, and WA that are thanks to our pro bono partners at JCDecaux Australia

This is an ad with heart, rigour, and purpose — designed not only to inspire, but to ensure Bush Heritage can continue its vital conservation work.
