Stories in this edition of Bushtracks shed light on some of the incredible outcomes we can achieve when we work together. Includes an update on protecting endangered fish at Edgbaston, revegetation at Scottsdale at our partnership with the Wunambul Gaambera people in the Kimberley.

Our 'Living Waters' story follows Karajarri Elders and rangers as they journey back to sacred water sites. At Napperby Station, we're working with Hewitt to achieve shared ecological outcomes and At Yourka Reserve, ecologists Daniella Teixeira and Courtney Melton are quite literally recording the symphony of the bush.

Updates include our work to support a new generation of conservationists, cultural burns return to Friendly Beaches, Plains-wanderers increase in number and a look back at sharing knowledge, time and culture at the Garma Festival in the Northern Territory.

Stories include our work to create climate resilience in our landscapes, an update on natural capital accounting, plans for wet season burns in far north Queensland and our partnership managing Fish River Station in the Northern Territory.

We take a look at the impact of bushfire recovery funding on Brogo Reserve in NSW, examine our partnership with DJAARA in central Victoria to tackle a Wheel Cactus infestation at its source, introduce our new Balanggarra partnership in the Kimberley and there's an incredible story on the plants and pollinators of south-west Western Australia.

It's our 30th Anniversary and our Founder - Dr Bob Brown reflects on the milestone. We also look a the Murrumbidgee River's recovery from the 2019-20 bushfires, reflect on the importance of disappearing but vital desert habitat and look at the Wunambal Gaambera's use of fire to protect country.

Thirty years ago, when Australia’s environmental movement was still finding its feet, a group of people gathered around a walnut tree in northern Tasmania to talk about the future of the Australian bush. With great foresight, they realised Australia urgently needed a better model for land conservation and the Australian Bush Heritage Fund was born.
