Adventure & weed busting on the Murrumbidgee

Published 27 Sep 2021

Presented by Bush Heritage volunteer Paul Bateman and hosted by Bush Heritage's Katie Ronald.

Paul has been participating in a volunteer project with Bush Heritage and the Upper Murrumbidgee Demonstration Reach project to control willows and other woody weeds along the river in the vicinity of Bush Heritage Australia's Scottsdale Reserve.

The UMDR is a project focused on woody weed control, managing stock access to the river and restoring native vegetation along the banks and in-stream, engaging communities and encouraging adoption of Best Management Prtactises, improving fish passage and recreating geomorphic complexity. Its a collaborative partnership between Kosciuszko 2 Coast, Bushland Heritage Australia, ACT Government, the Murray-Darling Basin Authority, South-east Local Land Services, NSW Department of Primary Industries, and local communities.
