Bush Heritage invites science academics to spend up to six months — the length of a typical sabbatical — with us to share their knowledge and translate their academic work into real-word impact.
We’re keen to collaborate with scientists whose expertise complements our own in-house knowledge by hosting Scientists in Residence.
We make our reserves and other facilities available as study sites, cover expenses and project costs and provide opportunities to improve cultural competence, work on practical projects, collaborate on new thinking and deliver high-impact conservation science.
There are opportunities to work with a specific landscape team on a geographically focused area of inquiry or with the national and executive teams on broader issues.
Scientists in Residence will become familiar with our Knowledge Strategy and help to inform our work in their areas of expertise. There will also be excellent opportunities for a resident’s students and colleagues to continue engaging with us beyond the initial residency.
